NEW 'PUTER...

So after my disaster with Apple I went back to a PC format and through my old reliable computer repair company ordered something that was as light as the MacBook Air, as small, but based on a system my brain could understand and, YES, it was expensive, but it's cool.

I am now the proud owner of a Lenovo X220.  It's totally 'solid state'.  I guess that means it has no moving parts, but I will say "It's FAST".  It's the shitzzzz.  It's taking some getting used to with this Windows 7 op system, but otherwise I seem to be somewhat functional with the silly thing.  I say that as I'm typing this from a Mickey Dee's near the interstate over by the west farm.

I like this.  It works...

All The Best,
Frank W. James

Good choice Frank. The Thinkpad X series has been my go to for about 10 years now. They haven't let me down yet.

Keep an eye on that solid state hard drive. While blazingly fast, and I want one myself, there are rumors they tend to destruct without much warning. Good time to make sure your backup system is up to snuff.

I used to carry a Lenovo T60 until my department standardized on Windows 7 and I was forced to turn the old girl in for a Dell. The ThinkPad software suite is great at keeping it running in top shape.

There you go. I've been using 7 on my work computer for a few months and if you know XP, you are good to go for the most part.

Solid state is pretty cool as well. Only moving part is the fan.
