THE E.U. TAX ON FLIGHTS FROM THE STATES...

I'm going to go to IWA, the European equivalent of the Shot Show, this year after an absence of a decade or more.  I booked a room today and I knew it wouldn't be cheap and it wasn't.  But, it was the airfares that really shocked me.  The ticket from Indy to Germany (I can use a couple of different airports over there) is approximately $179!

It's the E. U. add-on TAXES that get you.

Would you believe from $664 to $739 in taxes on top of that 'low price' airfare?  Which brings the total to just over $900 and this during the 'Low' season

I was told at last week's Shot Show this was what I should expect as it seems the European Union has created a special tax just for Americans.  I can't imagine what a 'High' season airfare is to Europe now?  There is no need to explain how this has killed the European/American tourist business.  Obviously, if this wasn't for business purposes I wouldn't be going.  You would think with all their economic troubles they would be doing everything they could to encourage people to come and spend money as opposed to taxing something to death.

But then what can you expect in terms of sound economic policy from a bunch of liberal socialists?...

At least you can write it off... I can fly to Japan cheaper than I can fly to Italy...

It's the greeny shit that puts up these stupid taxes.
